Mother Michelle Mone, whose son is now 9 years old, is calling out people for the abuse she experienced by her father during the time he lived with her mother.
In a series of videos posted online, the mom has shared a story of being abused by the father of her child, who she says was abusive, controlling and violent.
The videos were filmed in 2005 in the Los Angeles suburb of Rancho Mirage, California.
Mone said she was the primary caregiver for her son when she was young, and that her father abused her when she had to leave the home, leaving her mother to take care of him.
Mowre said that during the videos, her father threatened her and beat her, and her mother told Mone that she was being a liar and that she should “go back to the crib and lie down.”
“My son was taken from me,” she said.
“The worst part is that it was all done in front of me.”
She said that after she filed a lawsuit against her father, her case was dismissed and her father was arrested.
Mover said that her son and Mone were never able to reconcile.
“I had the biggest heartbreak, but I also had hope,” she told HuffPost.
“There was a part of me that wanted to be able to see my son again.”
Mone is now calling on people to step forward if they were abused by their fathers.
“We all need to be more accountable for the harm we have caused to children, and we need to do our part to make sure that this never happens again,” she wrote in a statement.
Mower, a freelance writer, said she has been trying to learn more about the cases of parents who claim to have been abused by parents.
“This is not the way it’s supposed to happen, and I know many of the victims have tried to hide the abuse and blame it on a spouse or other family members,” she explained.
“My hope is that my story helps other families find justice for their lost loved ones.”
